Why is it that so many people do stupid things? What does it say about the universe that human beings, the most intelligent known animal on the planet, can behave like absolute morons? From the guy who picks a fight in a restaurant over a chair, to the pop star who gets blackout drunk and flashes the paparazzi, it seems that there are stupid people in all corners of popular culture and everyday life.

But are they really stupid? Or are they perfectly normal people who have been tricked into behaving stupidly by society? We can only hope to answer this question by examining as much evidence as possible. Below are some examples of folks who might or might not be what society considers “stupid people.”

Man Pulls Gun On Schoolchildren over Confederate Flag

Confederate Flag Tough GuyAn 18-year-old man was arrested by police in Virginia for brandishing a firearm at elementary school students, because they had been making disparaging comments about a confederate flag on his truck. Now, if that’s not the stupidest thing you’ve ever heard, you must be familiar with some extremely idiotic things!

Joshua P. Dalton was reportedly in his pickup truck, stopped behind an elementary school bus that was unloading children, when the incident occurred, according to police. It is not clear what the kids said to Dalton, but it was about the confederate flag displayed on his truck. After Dalton reportedly drew his gun, two of the students involved returned to the bus and told the bus driver there was a man aiming a gun at the bus. The bus driver brought them back onboard, returned them to the school, and called the police.

Dalton is charged with two counts of brandishing a firearm. A female passenger accompanying Dalton was not charged.

When will people stop acting stupid? Maybe never.
