In Bridgeport, Connecticut, there have been reports of citizens throwing eggs and other objects at utility crews who were trying to restore power after Hurricane Sandy, FoxNews.com reported.
After Bridgeport’s mayor declared that the power company had “shortchanged” the city, angry residents reportedly verbally abused utility crews who were working to fix the power grid. The shouting soon escalated into throwing eggs and other objects.
A spokesman for the utility company said “It started to get hairy. They did not feel safe. We communicated with the city and said if you don’t provide police support, we can’t have our crews there in harm’s way.”
Really? How could anyone think it was the utility crews’ fault, even if the company they worked for had failed to be fully prepared to respond to the storm?
